Four Steps to Your New Life in Canada
Healthcare workers are in high demand across Canada. There is a labour shortage for healthcare workers in every province in Canada. Now is the best time to come to Canada and jump into an industry that needs you! Completing a diploma at Stenberg College will lay the foundation to your future PR application.
Step One
Six months of in-class learning.
Your program will take place at Stenberg's Surrey campus, located next to Surrey Central Skytrain Station.
You may work 24 hours/week during this time.
Step Two
Four month break
The program has a scheduled four month break. During this time, you may work full-time anywhere you want.
Step Three
Five months of co-op
Stenberg will then place you into a co-op job in a care facility. You will work full-time and utilize the skills you've picked-up in class. This a great chance to get practical hands-on experience. You may work 24 hours/week off-campus during this time.
Step Four
Apply for a work permit
Before you graduate, Northern Life will help secure an Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) for you. This means you'll have a seamless transition from Study Permit to Work Permit. LMIA jobs offered are for in-home caregivers for children or seniors.
